Krazy Kat
Created in 1913

This is the greatest of all cartoon strips and the www has many examples of George Herriman's work.
Take a look at some of them in
LINKS and enter the magic world of KK.

KRAZY KAT lasted from 1913 until the 1940's.

Krazy Kat.........

loves Ignatz Mouse...

But Ignatz rejects all of Krazy's advances. Ignatz has a very negative attitude towards
Krazy, which he shows by tossing bricks at her head....
ZIP.....POW !

Krazy believes this brick tossing is a sign that Ignatz loves her.
But a second character also loves Krazy....

Offissa Pupp... ...the dumb constable. He tries to protect her by attempting to catch Ignatz at his various "criminal activities" and throw him in jail.

This love triangle is played out against the surrealistic setting of Coconino County, Arizona in  the Grand Canyon. The landscape  morphs into ever changing patterns...this physical transmutation underpins a sophisticated allegory that Herriman inserts into the lives of these three characters.
